In order to become husband and wife, Oksana and Ken went through a lot. Oksana's parents strongly disagreed with their daughter's marriage to a foreigner, and Ken had to abandon any claim to the throne because of her marriage to a foreigner.

Their story goes back to 1992, when Oksana entered the College of Biology after graduating from medical school. She stood at the door of the Moldovan university dormitory, taking the key to the room, next to foreign students passing by, they communicated with each other in unfamiliar languages, very loudly. One of them stopped, said something to his friend, and then calmly moved on. Many years later, Oksana learned what the foreigner had said: "This lovely girl will be my wife." ”
But when Ken started dating, the freshman didn't even realize he was pursuing her. They lived in the same dormitory, and she had just appeared in the common kitchen to cook when a smiling Young African came with a whole bunch of unwashed dishes. Ken was lovely, attentive and considerate, but Oksana herself grew up in a village not far from the Moldavian city of Soroca and didn't immediately agree to at least get to know him normally instead of going on a date.
It took her best friend a long time to convince the girl to talk to Ken. Her heart had been drawn to the young man, but her mind was still resisting, and thoughts came to her mind about differences in mindset, culture, and habits.

In this struggle, however, the feelings win, but there is still a need to introduce her future husband to her parents. Admittedly, one of the acquaintances was ahead of Oksana, and Mom and Dad immediately proved their opposition to ken himself and their daughter's impending marriage. Oksana's brother was the first to meet Ken, and thanks to him, my mother softened. She seems to have realized that her daughter is too serious to be persuaded to give up the relationship. Dad was in line much longer.

Ken graduated from university in 1994 and went to the UK, while Oksana had two years left to get her diploma. But distance did not flatten the lovers' feelings, and as early as 1996, the girl put her parents in front of the truth: she was going to London to learn a foreign language for six weeks. In fact, that's the way it is. For two years, Ken worked in multiple locations at the same time in order to save money on Oksana's arrival and her language classes.

Indeed, she didn't tell her parents the most important thing: She wouldn't leave for a month and a half or even six months. She already knew ken was her destiny. The birth of Daniel's grandson eventually helped the parents reconcile with their daughter and her husband. In 1998, Ken met Oksana's parents. From then on, they not only accepted him into the family, but also fell in love with him wholeheartedly.
With Ken's parents, things are much easier. Even when he went on vacation to Ghana after his fourth year and carried a black-and-white photograph of his bride with him, Oksana was very worried. Ghana is a republic ruled by an elected government, but the country has long had several traditional kingdoms, ken is the eldest son, and is therefore the heir to one of the thrones. Admittedly, marrying a white-skinned girl naturally deprived him of all his royal privileges. He was certainly ready for it himself, but his parents might have reacted differently.

Ken's father, when he saw The Photo of Oksana, first stared at it for half a day, then simply said that the girl was smart and that if her son loved her, he should get married. Even without face-to-face acquaintances, she was accepted. Oksana and Ken are married, and one day she plucked up the courage to call her mother-in-law to wish her a Merry Christmas.
She barely knew English at the time, and her fuse was just enough to say hello, blurt out, "Merry Christmas," and say goodbye. Ken's mother immediately called her son back, saying she would pray for her new daughter.

Their lives together from the beginning cannot be said to be wonderful. After she went to England to marry her husband, the family had a difficult time. Ken works in multiple locations at the same time so that Oksana can easily take language courses. They lived in a common apartment where Oksana could wait hours for her turn to use the only stove. They have repeatedly found themselves at checkout, trying to pay with a credit card, and suddenly find that the money has been used up.
Ken was so tired that he sometimes even switched from one job to another by bus, holding a sign in his hand that read, "Wake me up in Piccadilly." When their son was born, they met at some point in the morning: Ken was in a hurry to get to work, and Oksana came back from work. The husband gave Daniel to his wife, who took him home to sleep. After all, in the UK, no one can help them with their children. In the evening, the rituals were repeated in reverse order, and now Oksana was in a hurry to go to work, willing to pick up his son and go home with him. They buy toys for their children in second-hand shops, wash and disinfect them at home.
Oksana first came to her husband's hometown of Ghana in 2000 because they had no money to travel until then. As the millennium approached, Ken finally found his professional job in the hospital, where he no longer had to sort mail at night and work as a security guard in a store during the day. At the same time, his salary was only enough to support his family, not enough to visit relatives in distant African countries.
Oksana was busy confirming her Moldovan diploma at the time and had to work as a nurse for free for six months. At the same time, he also has to pay for his son's kindergarten. When she was hired as a paid nurse, she began saving money for trips to Africa. In July 2000, their common dream came true and they disembarked in Ghana.
It was an absolutely unforgettable trip. Parents treat their son's wife as their dearest guest and treat her as a true queen. Since then, they have had a tradition of celebrating Oksana's birthday in her husband's hometown.
Dreams come true
Many years have passed since then. Now, ken and Oksana Amenyakh's family has two adult sons who still live in the UK. The head of the family is a haematologist-transfusion physician who has scientific work and is in charge of a department of the hospital. His wonderful wife runs a boarding house for people with disabilities and dementia, and she also maintains a fascinating blog about herself and her family, with over 45,000 subscribers.
Daniel, the eldest son who once dreamed of professional football, earned a diploma in economics and became a successful anchor who broadcast live from international esports competitions around the world. The youngest Jerome decided to follow in his parents' footsteps and become a doctor, choosing to specialize in neurosurgery. To this end, he gave up his love of football and worked intensively to enter the university. Both of Oksana and Ken's sons were born in London and consider Moldova and Ghana to be their home countries.
Now the family's life is like a fairy tale, and the difficult times of lack of money have become a distant past. The couple continues to work hard and learn at the same time, they believe that to achieve their dreams, as long as they work hard, they will never stop, and they believe that there will be successful results. And, of course, love each other. After all, love always helps them.
Oksana is ready to follow her husband to the ends of the earth, but some foreigners marry Russian beauties and prefer to establish their own happiness in Russia. Interracial marriages still surprise the public, and spouses often have to face judgment and neglect.
