1. Event filing
Member associations are required to complete the 2022 local league match filing in the Chinese Football Association by March 31, 2022. The information reported includes the time of the league, the competition arrangement, the number of teams, the order book, the competition work plan and the person in charge information.
2. Official registration of the club
Before April 29, 2022, the member association shall officially register the participating clubs (including the club name, club license, confirmation of the salary of club personnel and bank records, the league order book of the member association, the report book and other support materials), and pay a disciplinary deposit of 100,000 yuan (20,000 for the disciplined club last season).
3. Athlete registration
After the qualifications of the registered clubs have been approved by the Chinese Football Association, the registration of athletes and team officials should be completed on the information platform of the Chinese Football Association before May 6, and the number of registered athletes is 18-30. Clubs that advance to the finals are allowed to adjust 3 players after the end of the regional round.
4. Competition time and format
(1) Regional Competition:
The competition will be held from May to July 2022. Divided into 8 divisions, the tournament is a centralized competition system, with up to 64 clubs participating, divided into 16 groups, each two groups in one division. Preliminary divisions are carried out according to the location of the club, the registration situation, the results of previous Champions Leagues and the principles of different groups of teams of the same member association. Specific group teams, fixtures and matches are arranged by draw. The game break is a day off from playing a game. The regional tournament begins with a single round robin format for each group, with the first and second places of the two groups in the same division, and two cross-elimination matches, and the two winning teams enter the finals.
(2) Grand Finals:
The competition runs from September to November 2022. If the domestic anti-epidemic situation fundamentally improves, the home-and-away format will be adopted in the finals. If the epidemic situation does not allow cross-regional competitions, the finals will adopt a centralized competition system. The 16 teams participating in the finals were identified as 8 seeded teams according to the results of the regional competition, and were divided into two groups by lottery. The interval between matches is one game per week (home and away), or a two-day break for a match (tournament system). In the Finals, each group played a single round robin first, followed by qualifying. The first place in the two groups played 2 home-and-away qualifying matches to compete for the champions and runners-up of the Chinese Champions League. Each group of two to five has a total of 8 teams, and a cross-knockout round is held, resulting in the third to tenth place. The remaining places are sorted by the results of the finals.
