On July 22, Beijing time, the Hubei Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection released news that Tan Hai, former Golden Sentinel, director of the Technical Department of the Chinese Football Association, and Qi Jun, director of the Strategic Planning Department of the Chinese Football Association, are suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and are currently under review and investigation by the discipline inspection and supervision team of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervision Commission stationed in the State General Administration of Sports and the Hubei Provincial Supervision Commission. According to Xu Jiang, a media person earlier, the two were taken away during a meeting.

Born in 1970, Tan Hai has been a member of the Chinese Super League since 2005 and was named "Golden Whistle" (Referee of the Year) four times by the organisers in 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015. Tan Hai has also gone abroad, and has served as a referee dozens of times in the AFC Champions League, East Asian Cup, West Asia Cup, AFC Cup and other events. He has also been enforced in the World Qualifiers. In 2016, Tan Hai closed the post, and two years later, Tan Hai became the head of the referee management department of the Chinese Football Association.
