"Turtle speed driving" is very harmful
The purpose of the newly introduced traffic regulations is to combat "turtle speed driving" and improve the efficiency of domestic road traffic. "Turtle speed driving" not only leads to a great reduction in road traffic efficiency, but also easily induces traffic accidents, even serious car accidents.
Turtle speed driving will naturally block the normal driving of the rear vehicle, forcing the rear car to complete a series of actions such as braking, changing the line, and overtaking. These ultra-low-speed vehicles are obstacles in the traffic flow, and normal vehicles have to change their lines frequently to avoid these obstacles, which not only reduces the efficiency of road traffic, but also easily causes traffic accidents.
Even if there is no traffic accident, the lower traffic efficiency wastes everyone's time and increases the huge social cost.
According to the data of the National Bureau of Statistics, in 2020, the average wage of employed personnel in urban non-private units in the country is 97379 yuan, equivalent to an average hourly wage of 48.69 yuan, and the corresponding number of employed people is 170.39 million people, assuming that everyone spends 30 minutes more commuting time every day, the direct increase in social costs per day is 4.15 billion yuan!

The efficiency of road traffic is directly related to the income of e-hailing drivers.
Taxi driver C is more worried about the real effect of the new regulations. He said: At present, the phenomenon of turtle speed driving on the road is quite common, but some drivers do not intentionally drive at turtle speed, but because the car in front is too slow, in this case, who is responsible for it is not easy to define.
In this regard, I also consulted a friend who is a traffic policeman, in his opinion, there is indeed a problem of law enforcement difficulties in controlling turtle speed driving, but is it difficult to crack down on drunk driving?
This traffic police friend believes that to change the increasingly common illegal traffic behavior of turtle speed driving, it is not only necessary to increase the punishment, but also through the normalization of special rectification actions, in order to be truly effective.
We believe that as long as the relevant management departments strictly enforce the law and crack down on "turtle speed" like cracking down on drunk driving, some people will eventually be able to change the bad problem of "turtle speed driving".
