Tianzhou-2, the first cargo spacecraft launched during the key technology verification phase of the Chinese space station, was launched into orbit on May 29, 2021, which is also the first applied flight of the cargo transportation system of the continental space station, sending 6.8 tons of supplies to the space station. During the orbital operation, the Tianzhou-2 cargo spacecraft has conducted four rendezvous and docking with the Tianhe core module, and completed a number of expanded application tests such as spacecraft orbiting, robot arm transposition module verification, and hand-controlled remote operation rendezvous and docking as planned. After separating from the space station, the spacecraft propellant margin was fully utilized, and the 2-hour rapid rendezvous test between the cargo spacecraft and the space station was successfully implemented, accumulating experience for the construction and operation management of the space station.
