The jade pendant is oval in shape, the upper part is slightly narrower, the lower part is slightly wider, and the blue and white jade is waxy and shiny. The body is covered with cattle hair patterns, and the color is like a sweet chestnut, showing that the Qin color has penetrated deeply into it, and the ancient meaning is full of ancient meaning, and it cannot be formed unless it has a thousand years of history.

The ornamentation of this jade pendant is quite elaborate, from the front, the central one, flat eyebrows, thin eyes, flat nose, large ears, neat and fine hair, upper hair crown, for the typical Han facial features. This person is wearing a wide-sleeved turtleneck, a belt at the waist, a cloud head with his feet, his right hand caressing the back of the deer next to him, and his left index finger pointing at the deer's mouth. The deer's head is like a cloud-headed horn, the body is fat, the muscles are raised and strong, the legs are slender, the deer tail is upturned, the mouth is leaning forward, as if to stick out its tongue to lick the master's fingers, and the look is vivid.

To the right of Yu Pei is a small child, with a head combed in a double bun, wearing a wide-sleeved turtleneck, a belt at the waist, holding a bowl in his hand, and his expression is respectful and full of childishness. From the back, it is a human and deer-shaped back, one of the deer's front legs is bent and slightly raised, and the child's belt is tied behind him. The backs of people, deer, and children echo the front ornamentation, and the use of bas-relief techniques to show the effect of circular carving, which is very peculiar, which is also the uniqueness of its technique.

The fine carving of the jade pendant is very characteristic of the times, whether it is the front or the back, the character costumes are slightly curved with shallow and thin oblique yin carved lines to express the fold marks, which are long and numerous, which is a typical feature of the Tang Dynasty carved costumes. The carving technique of the deer also has obvious Characteristics of the Tang Dynasty: the upper and lower eyelines of the deer eye are carved with two knives, and the blade can be seen, the carved line is thick and thin, and the eyeball is represented by a short yin line, which is a common technique for depicting animals in the Tang Dynasty. The Tang Dynasty was an extremely important turning point in jade culture, realizing the transformation from "ceremonial jade" and "burial jade" to practical jade and religious jade. In the Tang Dynasty, the aristocratic class carried jade with them to show their temperament and style. This jade pendant was included in the Complete Collection of Chinese Jade.

This jade pendant was excavated in 1976 from the tomb of Gu Lin of the Ming Dynasty in Deng Wan Li, Yangming Township, a suburb of Wuxi City, Gu Lin, born in the year of Ding Wei (1557) of Ming Jiajing, died in the year of Wanli Yiwei (1595), the character YuQing, Ming Tai student. Gu Lin's tomb is commonly known as "Gu Da Tomb", due to historical reasons, it was once bulldozed, until March 1976, in an accidental infrastructure project was found again, when the Wuxi City Museum carried out a rescue cleanup, unearthed 35 pieces (sets) of burial utensils, of which a total of 10 pieces of jade from the Han to the Ming, the pieces are well-crafted, which shows the depth of the tomb owner Gu Lin Aiyu.
