Subaru WRX STI History Review The end of another era

[Aika car shopping guide original]

The Subaru WRX STI, a model created to win the WRC Rally, has become the embodiment of speed and classics in the more than two decades since its birth. Some people worship it as a sacred relic because of the horizontally opposed engine and the DCCD four-wheel drive system, some people love the racing genes flowing in its bones, and some people like its unique wildness. In short, when you drive the Subaru WRX STI to raise a puff of dust, you will understand the meaning of its existence. However, just a few days ago, Subaru North America issued a statement saying that the internal combustion engine version of the Subaru WRX STI will no longer be launched, and it will be extended to life in an electric way in the future. This news can be seen as the end of an era, and those of us who were not born at the right time can only use words to review its former glory.

Editor's Note: For a model that was born for rally racing and can only exert its greatest charm on non-paved roads, the move to electrification is a bit comical, and of course, it also feels the helplessness of the Subaru brand for strict emissions policies. Although the fuel version of the Subaru WRX STI ended here, JDM fans still believed, "Sabaru is the best, Sabaru WRX STI is always the best." Now that it's all a foregone conclusion, let's hope that the all-electric new STI will give us amazing performances.
