A new patch for Ichijo's Eldon's Law Ring fixes a bug to prevent PC archives from being corrupted by hackers

In last week's Big Patch for the Elden Ring, NPC task tags and extensions were added, and recently FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco released a smaller update that addresses a range of issues across all platforms. Among them, the most important for PC players includes a fix that prevents hackers from destroying player saves.

In the patch notes for the just-released version 1.03.2 eldon Law Ring, the remedy was mentioned, explaining that the update "fixed a bug in multiplayer that allowed players to teleport others to incorrect map coordinates."

This directly solves the vulnerability where a malicious hacker teleports the player's world below the map after invading it. This first manifested itself as a game crash during the invasion, but when affected players tried to restart their game, they would find that they were teleported under the map, dying indefinitely, with no way to save the hundreds of hours of their hard-earned saves.

Whether that's enough to stop the Eldon Ring hackers remains to be seen, but now That FromSoftware at least looks like it has made it possible for players to reconnect their games to the Internet without fear of maliciously corrupting their saves.

In addition to this, the 1.03.2 update also fixed a bug that prevented some players from advancing the NPC Nepheli Loux's quest line, another bug that caused players to die while trying to descend from a place near Northern Sanctum, and a bug that prevented Ash of War, Endure from working.

Bandai Namco noted that online gaming will not be available until this update is installed, but servers on all platforms should now be back online.

After the recent PlayStation network failure, PlayStation users are struggling to access Eldon's Multiplayer servers, hoping that Sony will continue to work to restore functionality.
