A Zen master has said that with your fists clenched, you will have nothing; with your hands open, you will have the whole world.
What people cling to seems to be persistence, but in fact it is "obsession". What people let go of seems to be helpless, but in fact it is life.
To be a person, we must know how to "switch" the state, be able to clench both fists, and let go of both hands, have to give up, and also get, in this short life, more and more frustrated, extraordinary achievements.
However, what is difficult for people to do is not "attachment", but "letting go". In this regard, I believe that many people will wonder, letting go, it represents ease, why do people still cling to a miserable life?
For example, the boss of a nijin doujin, he knows that the company is insolvent, but he still insists on taking his life, and even jumps off the building to save his life. why? After enjoying it for a long time in a high position, it is naturally impossible to face a life of "gap".
The word "gap" makes people feel the pain the most. From a certain point of view, human psychological endurance is still a little fragile after all, so they have been tested by life.
In this life, no matter how old you live, you need to learn to let go.
Especially middle-aged people over fifty years old, for these three things, don't be too attached, it will hurt you.
01
For fame and fortune, we can let go.
Cao Xueqin wrote in "Good Song": "The world knows that the gods and immortals are good, but the name of merit cannot be forgotten!" Where will the past and the present meet? A pile of grass was gone. ”
People in this world know that the life of the gods is the best, but they still can't forget the fame and fortune. Looking at the princes and generals throughout the ages, where are they still? It has long since become a pile of white bones.
When we are young, we can be properly attached to fame and fortune. But after getting older, we may as well live a better life, at least, fame and fortune can not be taken away.
No matter how rich you are, you can't take it away; no matter how famous you are, you can't live a long life; no matter how much you have a career, you can't let people live to be two hundred years old. In this way, as long as we enjoy the process, we have no regrets.
Just think, isn't life a process? Isn't life just a process? Since we have done everything in the process well, why should we cling to external objects?
We can grasp everything we deserve, and we may as well let go of everything we can't get. Letting go is wisdom.
02
For everything that was in the past, we can let go.
The so-called "the past cannot be traced, the future is still within reach." ”
Everything in the past, even if we cling to it, we can't start again. Even if it is really possible to start again, who can guarantee that the result of doing it again will be better than the present?
Since there is no regret medicine in this world, and there is no recurrence, it is enough to focus on the present and the future and live steadily.
In ancient times, a farmer went up the mountain and asked. As soon as he saw the old Zen master, he cried that he had a bad life in the first half of his life and had never been happy in his life, which was really sad.
The old Zen master replied to him with a sentence: "The past has become a thing of the past, it is already a cloud of smoke, and it is a miserable sentient being, so why cling to it?" ”
The saddest thing about a person's life is that he can't let go of the past. Human beings know that the result of not being able to put it down is suffering, but they still insist on going into a dead end, which is their unwiseness.
Being a person, almost on it, don't always ask too much, don't always want to be monstrous, plain is the truth.
03
For the pursuit of perfection in life, we can let go.
Bai Yansong said that when the flowers are not yet in full bloom, they are the most beautiful. Once the flowers are fully bloomed, they are not far from withering; when the moon is not yet fully round, it is the most beautiful. Once the moon is fully round, it is not far from losing money.
Perfection seems to be a noble pursuit, but in fact it is just "self-inflicted suffering". Just think, who can achieve perfection in all things in this world?
Even the saints have flaws, they are all in the "Japanese Province", and what can be said to be ordinary people?
In a speech, Zeng Shiqiang taught a story.
A person prays to the heavens, hoping that he can live a happy life, the future generations are happy and happy, the family is harmonious and beautiful, and the family assets are rich enough.
In this regard, Cang Tian replied to him with a word, or we both changed our identities. If I can have such a perfect life, then I will do it myself, so why let you have it?
This corresponds to the sentence: "All beings are imperfect." ”
People, if we want to live happily, then we just need to be "full of knowledge and happiness", why do we have to be so stubborn? The essence of stubbornness is to let oneself suffer, meaningless.
Write to the end
What is letting go? The heart is transparent, peaceful and open-minded, no longer entangled for the sake of a city and a pool, that is to let go.
To borrow a phrase from Mr. Jin Yong: "No me is formless, no me is heartless, no me is no move, no me is invincible." ”
People who can truly be invincible to the world will definitely not be entangled in the visible moves, but will instead contain themselves in the heavens and the earth, and gradually in the process of going with the flow, and then reach the realm of invincibility.
In the same way, people who can really live happily will never be uneasy because of everything in front of them or in the past, at least, the road ahead of life is full of hope. As long as your heart is firm enough, how can you be afraid that the iron tree will not blossom?
When people reach fifty, they let go of unnecessary obsessions, behave plainly, and believe that happiness will come unexpectedly.
