Recently, the new Ford Explorer (parameter | inquiry) of the medium and large SUV officially announced its exterior interior design. The luxury of the vehicle has been greatly enhanced, and the new car is expected to be launched at the Beijing Auto Show in April.
As a mid-level overhaul of the 6th generation of explorers, the new car has changed dramatically inside and out. The larger size of the front of the net, compared with the previous boxy hexagonal design, the contour twist is more exquisite, the interior adopts a combination of dot matrix and banner design, and the headlights add through-day running lights and flowing water turn signals to modify the wide and luxurious atmosphere. In terms of body, the length of the new car is 5075mm, and the width, height and wheelbase dimensions have not yet been announced. The A/B/D pillar is black concealed, and the C-pillar resembles a sailing mast, giving the roof a sense of suspension. The new car will feature 20-inch rims, a fully redesigned multi-spoke rim, and 255/55 R20 tires.
In terms of the rear, the taillights are also through-plan, and a chrome decoration is dotted with them, echoing the headlights. The lower part is a large area of metallic gray decorative panels, and the metal exhaust pipes with double out of the sides are considerable in size. The lower and front bumper skids are very wild in style.
In terms of interior, the new center console style adopts a horizontal ultra-wide size central control large screen, with rich interconnection functions, highlighting technology and increasing the visual width of the cockpit space. The interior is two-tone, with generous seats and delicate checks to create a strong sense of American luxury, and the second row of seats with armrest function can enhance passenger comfort. According to the current model seat layout speculation, the new car may still have a 6 or 7-seat version, using 2+2+2 or 2+3+2 seat layouts respectively.
In terms of power, the new Explorer is expected to continue to be equipped with a 2.3T four-cylinder turbocharged engine. According to the data we have, the current Explorer has a maximum power of 203 kW (276 hp) and a maximum torque of 425 Nm, matching the 10-gear automatic transmission.
