Data centers are the most basic and important computing network infrastructure for promoting the development of the digital economy, and have become an important carrier for promoting the transformation and upgrading of the mainland economy and high-quality development. The computing power requirements have increased, and the size of the data center has also expanded rapidly. It is understood that at present, there are about 40,000 data centers in public institutions on the mainland, and the electricity consumption accounts for about 8% of the total electricity consumption of public institutions, and the electricity consumption of a medium-sized data center is equivalent to the electricity consumption of residents in a county.
Green data center is the inevitable result of data center development, green data center can further guide the industry to take an efficient, low-carbon, intensive, circular development path, while helping to achieve carbon peak, carbon neutrality goals.
Located in the Water and Soil High-tech Industrial Park of Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing, China Mobile (Chongqing) Data Center is an important infrastructure based in the western region and serving the whole country built by China Mobile in the hot regional center of Chengdu-Chongqing region after the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and is one of the largest data centers in Chongqing.
"Due to the high temperature weather in Chongqing, the difficulty of building a green data center in Chongqing is much greater than that in the northeast and northwest, and we need to make better use of waste heat recovery, intelligent operation and maintenance and other technical means to improve energy consumption utilization." Ai Qiang, deputy general manager of Chongqing Mobile Big Data Intelligence Center, introduced. "The evaluation of green data centers is composed of 5 aspects and 17 indicators such as the efficient utilization of energy resources, green design and green procurement, energy resource use management, equipment green management and bonus points."
Referring to the advantages of China Mobile's green data center, Ai Qiang said: "China Mobile (Chongqing) data center from planning and design, selection, construction to the later operation and management of the whole life cycle, has well practiced the concept of 'low carbon, innovation, green, recycling'. Judging from the planning and design of China Mobile (Chongqing Jiangnan) data center currently under construction, the most critical energy efficiency indicators in the evaluation system meet the construction standards of the national computing hub node and meet the industry's high standards. ”
