The domestic CMOS STAWE SC550XS came out, which can benchmark mainstream products

As the most core supply chain location of the global smartphone industry, the domestic industrial chain has always been quite large and not strong, but with the passage of time and the increase in technical investment of domestic component suppliers, a large number of high-quality domestic components have gradually begun to land. A few days ago, image sensor supplier Stepway released its first 50MP high-resolution, 1.0μm pixel size of the new SC550XS.

It is reported that the CMOS called SC550XS is based on the 22nm HKMG Stack process, with Stevie SmartClarity-2 imaging technology, as well as SFCPixel and PixGain HDR patented technology. It offers a high resolution of 50 MEGAXels with a pixel size of only 1.0 μm and 100% full pixel focus with AllPix ADAF. In addition, the SC550XS supports triple exposure row overlapping HDR with 4K 30fps up to 120dB, and dual exposure row overlapping HDR mode at 60fps 100dB.

According to the official information, the power consumption of this CMOS is significantly reduced by 43% compared with similar products in the industry. In addition, Stewell's microlens design combined with an upgraded pixel process also allows the SC550XS's QE (quantum efficiency) to reach 82%, so the high spectral response efficiency means that it can also have extremely high sensitivity in low-light scenes, and can capture richer light and shadow details.

In general, the STAWE SC550XS not only has a pixel size of 50 million pixels and 1.0μm, including excellent performance in full pixel focus, night shooting, video, etc., but also makes it basically comparable to mainstream similar products. It is reported that this CMOS is expected to start mass production in the third quarter of this year, which may also mean that there will be models equipped with this CMOS within this year.
