The scientific research team of Tianjin Aviation Bureau firmly grasped the development opportunity and decided to carry out the research of the second generation of underwater dredging robots and transform and upgrade the first generation of dredging robots.
The first priority was to determine the development concept and development model, for which they held several seminars. "We can follow the product development concept of 'smart +' and adopt the product development model of 'independent research and development + OEM', while ensuring complete research and development ideas and complete intellectual property rights, to achieve the rapid landing and project application of asset-light model products." Team leader Wang Ye cleared up the team's thinking. The intelligent dredging system of the big heavy equipment "Tiankun" brought inspiration to Yu Tao, manager of the Institute of Information and Automation, and the team quickly began to develop, they took the intelligent dredging system of "Tiankun" as the model, and tailored a set of intelligent control system for the underwater dredging robot, which allows the robot to walk flat in the dark, narrow bends, ramps, and control freely, effectively ensuring the robot's ability to cope with complex operating conditions, and the control ability far exceeds the first generation of dredging robots.
The "walking" problem is solved, but the dredging robot cannot see the construction environment clearly during the construction operation, so it is not only necessary to install "eyes" for the dredging robot, but also to add "ears". In the months of fighting, the team plunged into the laboratory, they in the drawings and computer modeling through countless times of overturning, improving, drilling, and finally equipped the robot with a variety of types of visual and sound sensors, but also with an underwater video surveillance system, whether on land or in the underwater environment can monitor the dredging robot's trajectory and construction environment in an all-round way. In the end, with the joint efforts of the team, the second generation of underwater intelligent dredging robot was successfully launched, truly realizing "six ways to see and ears to listen to the eight directions".
Nowadays, the second generation of underwater intelligent dredging robot independently designed and developed by the scientific research team exceeds 40 cubic meters per hour, which is much higher than the similar intelligent operation robot in the market, and this robot is not only suitable for underground sewage channels, but also can operate in confined spaces or ultra-deep environments such as hidden culverts, box culverts, canals, small rivers, reservoirs, etc., and is a veritable multi-functional underwater intelligent "cleaner".
