The road to the revival of the Rosebank Distillery ushered in a key figure: Malcolm Rennie

Recently, Rosebank, a legendary Scottish distillery that is being rebuilt, has ushered in key figures on its own path to revival: Malcolm Rennie, who will be the distillery's general manager, along with Robbie Hughes (distilling manager of the Ian MacLeod Group, the distillery's parent company, Ian MacLeod Group) and John Glass. Distillery Malt Master) is responsible for the management of the distillery.

Malcolm Rennie has 35 years of experience in the whisky industry. He previously led the team on the creation of a new plant in the Scottish Lowlands, the Lochlea Distillery, from the distillery's wheat fields to the roll-off of whisky models. In the 1990s, he was also involved in the rebuilding of the Annandale Distillery, also located in the lower scottish region. Throughout his illustrious career, he has accumulated extensive experience in whisky brands and styles, ranging from the Ardberg peat style in Islay to the rich fruity style of Glen Moray in Spezy.

Rosebank Distillery was founded in 1840 in the beautiful town of Falkirk in central Scotland. The distillery is considered the best of the Scotland Lowland wineries and is known as the "Queen of the Lowlands". However, due to the economic depression, the distillery closed in 1993. This makes Rosebank whisky highly sought after in the secondary market.

In 2017, the winery's parent company, Ian McAlley, decided to restart the distillery. They hired renowned architect Jeremy Scott to carry out a completely new design and remodeling of the winery. In addition to transforming the distillery into a sustainable one, a visitor center, tasting rooms, shops and warehouses were planned. It is reported that at the end of 2022, the distillery will officially resume distillation.

It is worth mentioning that Ian McAlley is the world's 10th largest Scotch whisky company and currently owns spirits brands such as Glengoyne, Tamdhu, Isle of Skye, Smokehead Scotch Whiskys and Edinburgh Gin.
