IT House understands that Steam Deck has four Deck compatibility categories: Verified, Playable, Unsupported, and Unknown. Validation is the highest compatibility level.
A game that passes only the following four things is verified by Deck:
Input: The game should have full controller support, use the appropriate controller input icons, and automatically bring up the on-screen keyboard when needed.
Display: The game should support the steam Deck's default resolution (1280x800 or 1280x720), with good default settings and clear and readable text.
Seamless experience: The game should not display any compatibility warnings, and if there is a launcher, it should be controlled using a controller.
System support: If running through Proton, the game and all of its middleware should be supported by Pronton, including anti-cheat support.
Once each game is checked, it is categorized on the Steam Deck according to its compatibility level. Players can see these categories when browsing their libraries or selecting games on the Steam Deck.
