After a series of twists and turns, Tesla recently announced the fixed date for the delivery of the Model Y of the Berlin Gigafactory. The handover ceremony will take place on March 22, 2022.
Last week, Tesla's gigafactory in Berlin, Germany, officially received final approval to build and produce 500,000 cars a year. This cleared the way for the company to start mass production of the Model Y, which also meant that the first deliveries to customers would be made soon.
It has been previously reported that the delivery ceremony of the first cars will take place on March 22 or 23, and this news has now been officially confirmed.
Tesla fan "Sawyer Merritt" shared the news on Twitter, where the electric car maker has officially issued a delivery day invitation to employees at the Berlin factory. He also uploaded a photo of the invitation. The photo reads that the event will take place on March 22, 2022 at 3 p.m. As shown in the following figure:
Previously, there were media reports that Tesla boss Elon Musk would attend the grand opening ceremony of the Berlin factory. In addition, the event will also be attended by relevant senior officials of Germany, as the Berlin plant is the country's largest industrial and energy project and one of the most modern electric vehicle production plants in the world.
The first 30 vehicles produced at the Berlin plant are expected to be delivered to customers at the event. But one thing is certain, the official operation of the Berlin Gigafactory will play a positive role in the development of the electric vehicle industry in Germany and europe as a whole.
