Wei Xingju, 51, is a community comprehensive administrator of Xijin West Road, Tumendun Street, Qilihe District, Lanzhou City, and the leader of the Golden Sun Volunteer Service Team, and was named the title of Lanzhou's 2019 Top 100 "Lanzhou Good People" in 2020.
Because of her straightforward personality and big grin, in the volunteer service "circle", everyone calls her "Sister Wei"; not only that, she is also a typical "female man", "as long as there are small and medium-sized cars with tires, I can drive". Wei Xingju had often driven the "three horses" to pull garbage before. However, in the 1990s, she was a "little woman" who opened her own shop and was a perfumed barber.
Walking into Wei Xingju's home, the house of about 70 square meters was clean and tidy. There were two desks by the window in the living room, where she often lay on her stomach and worked overtime. "Don't look at me as uncultured, I'm also a director," Wei Xingju said and demeanor, revealing her talent that she could not hide.

"Volunteer performances, directors, screenwriters, and planners are mostly done by me, of course, as well as drama, tea and other miscellaneous work I also take down." Wei Xingju said that although it looks simple, the behind-the-scenes work is not easy. Although some people say that "what a broken show is not professional at all", in her opinion, volunteers use their smiles to bring joy to the elderly, which is enough.
"The time spent helping others feels like more time than taking care of your own family." Between Wei Xingju's words, there was a slight pause. In 2000, Wei Xingju's lover, unfortunately suffered a large car accident, and after recovering, she suffered from osteomyelitis and a third-degree disability of the limbs, and in the face of the sudden changes encountered by the family, she chose to be strong. "The ones who owe the most are the husband and the children."
One day in May 2014, Wei Xingju cleaned the area as usual, saw a black leather bag in the green belt on the street, she picked it up and opened it, and it contained 60,000 yuan in cash! "The first time I saw so much money, to be honest, I was also short of money, I also hesitated, my husband needed money for medical treatment, and my son needed money to study..."
But in the end, it was her kind heart that convinced her. "If I lost so much money instead, I would have gone crazy!" Wei Xingju tried to think about the situation of the 60,000 yuan owner, and finally decided, "This money does not belong to me, I want to find the owner as soon as possible." After pulling out a bill for the phone bill from her purse, she dialed the "Send Money" phone.
When the owner received a call from Wei Xingju, he was excited and incoherent... When the owner of the lost gave Wei Xingju ten thousand yuan to express his respect and heartfelt thanks to her, he was politely refused by Wei Xingju on the spot. "If I had collected your 10,000 yuan, I wouldn't have paid you back 60,000 yuan!"
In 2016, Wei Xingju called for the formation of the "Golden Sun Love Volunteer Team", which has slowly grown from a few people at the beginning to more than 100 people now, who regularly carry out "three cares" volunteer service activities, and in 2018, they were awarded the title of "Excellent Youth Volunteer Organization" by the Qilihe District Committee of the Communist Youth League.
Over the past few decades, she has volunteered to cut the hair of more than 700 people from her home for the elderly with limited mobility, to pedestrians passing by on the side of the road, to sanitation workers in the sanitation room of the jurisdiction, to hospitalized patients in hospitals, to soldiers in the army, etc., and to provide escort and other volunteer services for 12 elderly people with limited mobility in the jurisdiction.
