The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has entered 12 days, and although the West and Ukraine have vigorously exaggerated the "strength" of ukrainian resistance, claiming to have caused heavy casualties to the Russian army, the situation on the battlefield is better than a thousand words. After a short period of "ceasefire and silence", the Russian army resumed its all-out offensive against the Ukrainian army, simultaneously exerting forces in eastern Ukraine, the Black Sea coast and around Kiev, which put great pressure on the defense system of the Ukrainian army, especially in the eastern Donbass front where the Ukrainian army was heavily armed, and the Russian army was close to weaving a huge encirclement net, which was expected to surround the 100,000 troops of the Ukrainian army.
In this unfavorable background, the Ukrainian authorities finally could not hold out, changed their previous tough tone, made major concessions to Russia, and hoped that Russia would take the initiative to cease war. According to the latest news from the Global Times, senior Ukrainian officials involved in the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations promised that NATO would not accept Ukraine's accession to the Alliance for at least the next 5 to 10 years, and at the same time, Ukraine would no longer try to join NATO.
Moscow's response to Ukraine's "softness" is very domineering, pointing out that the conditions of the Ukrainian side are not enough, and only by recognizing the independent status of Crimea and Donbass can the Russian side continue negotiations on a ceasefire.
Immediately afterward, Ukrainian President Zelenskiy angrily denounced Western indifference, claiming that the Russian military was posing a serious threat to Ukrainian civilians, but "the Western leaders seemed to be collectively dissolved" and turned a blind eye to the behavior of the Russian army.
According to outside analysis, although western countries seem to be enthusiastic about supporting Ukraine, they are slow to agree to formally enter the war, so that even if ukraine is given more arms, it will not change the direction of the Russian-Ukrainian war. In fact, Zelenskiy and other Ukrainian decision-makers have clearly recognized the reality, but they are still struggling to maintain it, and this time they have taken the initiative to make concessions to Russia, but it is still a delaying strategy, in order to buy time for more western assistance.
Military experts pointed out that the sudden launch of military operations by the Russian military against Ukraine has caused the diplomatic relations between major Western countries and Russia to plummet, and the recent sanctions taken by Western countries to suppress Russia have also angered the Russian government. In particular, the United States and other countries continue to stir up trouble and try to turn Ukraine into a "bloody ground" for Russia, which accelerates the consumption of Russia's already weak national strength.
But for Putin, military action in Ukraine is an arrow on the string, and only by solving the problems of Ukraine's confidants can Russia get a breathing space, so for Moscow, it is a key battle for the fate of the country, but for the West, even if it loses a Ukraine, it is not a bone-wrenching.
Therefore, even if Ukraine bleeds more, NATO will not directly participate in the war, but only regard ukrainians as "consumables" to block Russia, in this context, if Ukraine can recognize the situation at an early date and sign a peace agreement with Russia, it can save more Ukrainian civilian lives.
