Tesla's idea is not out of thin air, mainly because from 2022 onwards, all Tesla vehicles will be equipped with AMD Ryzen chipsets. This new set of in-car entertainment computers, known as the MCU3 by Tesla, has ten trillion floating-point operations and is comparable in performance to the latest game console, the Sony PlayStation 5.
Since Tesla's in-car entertainment system uses the Linux operating system, it is similar to the Windows system. Therefore, it is absolutely feasible to get the Steam platform running. So, Tesla's goal is not to adapt the games on Steam to Tesla, but to make the games on the Steam platform run directly on the vehicle without modification or porting. In addition, Elon Musk also said that the upcoming Tesla Cybercamp pickup will support the operation of the AAA blockbuster "Cyberpunk 2077".
