Star Dirk Nowitzki was earlier a guest on a podcast for Sports Illustrated. Throughout his career, Nowitzki played for the Mavericks/Mavericks until his retirement.
Speaking about the situation in which players are forcing the team to trade now, Nowitzki said: "This is a completely new situation. At the beginning of my career, we players felt like we didn't have enough power, the bosses had all the power, they could do everything.
"And now, the situation seems to have reversed a little bit. I think there should be a compromise. But now the players will be forced to leave, which is also undesirable in my opinion.
"My thinking is old-school. I don't want to sit here and judge what those guys are doing. I think everybody has to know what's best for them, what's best for their career, their brand — you know, everybody now has a brand — and their family.
"Personally, it's about staying in Dallas. Everything was fine. My family is there, I love Dallas, and I'm integrated into the community. So, that's a good fit for me. Of course, this is not for everyone's situation. ”
