India's smart TV shipments reached a new high, and Xiaomi's share ranked first

According to Counterpoint's latest India Smart TV Shipments Report, shipments in the Indian smart TV market in 2021 increased by 55% year-on-year, a record high, and the overall share of smart TVs in the TV market increased from 67% in 2020 to 84% in 2021.

Specific to the market share of each brand, Xiaomi (including Redmi) ranked first with an 18% market share, and the report pointed out that the Xiaomi TV 4A, Xiaomi TV 4X, Xiaomi TV 4A Horizon Edition and Redmi TV X Series are its best-selling models. Samsung is close behind with a 16% share, and its QLED TVs have achieved nearly 2-fold growth. LG achieved an 11% share driven by entry-level models, ranking third.

Sony is fourth with a market share of 6%, and the affordable W series is Sony's main sales force, but in the ultra-high-end market above 70,000 Rupees, Sony's X series is one of the best-selling models. Because of the best-selling entry-level Y series, shipments of OnePlus smart TVs surged by 354% year-on-year, ranking fifth with a share of 6%.

Despite being classified as Others, Realme, which has grown in the smartphone space, has also performed well in the smart TV market. Realme shipments in 2021 increased by 72% compared to 2020, making it one of the most popular brands in India's smart TV entry-level market.
