#Ukraine#【What will happen to Ukraine if it shoots at the people?】 】

After the outbreak of the Russo-Ukrainian War, due to the disparity in the strength of the regular armies of the two sides, the Ukrainian government started the idea of launching a people's war, distributed a large number of guns to the people, and called on the people to make their own Molotov to block the Russian army from attacking Kiev. Of course, the final effect is still unknown, but if you push the time to the Battle of Berlin more than seventy years ago, you may be able to find the answer.

On April 19, 1945, the Soviets began to encircle Berlin. In the face of the encirclement of the Soviet army, the German top brass still wanted to fight desperately, showing the so-called killer skill - "people's stormtrooper". As early as 1944, Goebbels and Hitler proposed the idea of creating a militia, although the wehrmacht front commanders believed that only adult men with strict training and suitable equipment could conduct military combat, and it was a shameful act to make the people rush to the battlefield to die, but in September 1944, Hitler ordered the formation of the "People's Stormtroopers".

In the early days of its founding, all able-bodied male citizens between the ages of 16 and 60 were directly included in Germany, and in February of the following year, even able-bodied female citizens were included, with a staggering 6 million in size, with Heinrich Himmler as the supreme commander. In order to give full play to the operational effectiveness, the German army also divided the formation of this unit, including brigades, squadrons, squads, detachments and so on.

In the view of Hitler and others, although the combat capability of the "People's Stormtroopers" is not at the same level as the Wehrmacht, due to its huge size, it can still fight to the death. During the Soviet siege of Berlin, the Germans began to mobilize the "People's Storm Troopers" and distribute guns on a large scale. This scene is almost the same as the Ukrainian government issuing guns to civilians, but compared with the German army at that time, the Ukrainian people are now much better equipped. But what about the equipped "People's Stormtroopers"?

According to incomplete statistics, the total number of "People's Stormtroopers" in the Battle of Berlin was only 40,000, and by the time Berlin was occupied by the Soviet army, at least 10,000 people were killed and countless wounded. As for the combat performance of this team, in a word, it was a one-touch collapse, except for a small number of desperate resistance, most of the participants caused only limited damage to the Soviet army. For this improvised team, even the Wehrmacht admitted that it could not play any positive role except to deplete Soviet ammunition, and when the Germans tried to use the team as a cover force, they scattered and fled. As for the so-called 6 million establishment, by the end of the war, at least 1 million members of the "People's Stormtroopers" had been captured and 175,000 people had been killed, and as for the remaining 4 million or so, some of them did not participate in the war at all, and the other part could not rule out that the German army had falsified data.

In short, the so-called "People's Stormtroopers" established by the German army, except for using the people as cannon fodder, had no impact on the direction of the war. More than seventy years ago, Hitler had proved with practical actions that this road would not work, and now the Ukrainian government has repeated the same trick, and the end can be imagined.

Information shows that on February 26, the "anti-Russian guerrillas" ambushed an SUV in Kiev, shooting two civilians, a man and a woman, but claiming that it was a Russian sabotage unit. It can be seen that the Arbitrary Distribution of Firearms by the Ukrainian Government has caused a negative impact, and there is more and more information that violence and robbery in Kiev and other places have increased. I would like to ask, does the Ukrainian government want the people to resist the Russian army, or to imitate Hitler and use the people as cannon fodder? If it is the latter, it is really disgraceful!

Finally, in The 4th Geneva Convention (Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War) clearly states that civilians of the enemy party to a conflict should be protected and treated humanely and that the killing, coercion, ill-treatment and expulsion of peaceful populations is prohibited. This means that the Russian military has an obligation to protect Ukrainian civilians. At the same time, however, the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War in the Treaty, in Article IV of Part I, includes in the definition of prisoners of war that "inhabitants of unoccupied territories, when the enemy is approaching, who have not yet organized themselves into regular forces, and who immediately take up arms to resist invading the army", means that once the Ukrainian people take up arms or will lose the protection of civilians, they can be regarded as combatants by the Russian army. This may lead to a humanitarian catastrophe, and the Ukrainian government will naturally be involved in the distribution of guns to civilians.
