Ding Mijin, born in 1957, is a native of Macheng, Hubei Province. Professor and former dean of the School of Art and Design of Beijing Forestry University, director of the Cultural Inheritance and Innovation Working Committee of the China Association for the Promotion of Culture, member of the Professional Committee of Chinese Painting, and member of the China Artists Association. He is an expert in the field of fine arts of the National Steering Committee for Postgraduate Education in The Art Major, a review expert of the Degree Center of the Ministry of Education, an expert of the Art Education Committee of the China Social Arts Association, and an expert of the China Education Think Tank Network.

His works have been selected for more than 100 international and domestic mainstream academic exhibitions such as the 9th and 12th National Art Exhibitions, the 1st and 2nd Global Ink Painting Exhibitions, the 2nd National Figure Painting Exhibition, the 3rd Chengdu Biennale, and the 6th Shenzhen International Ink Biennale, and many works have won awards. He has published a variety of personal albums, a number of core journals and online media columns to promote his works, and his works have been collected by domestic and foreign art institutions and private collections.

His representative works, research achievements and biographies have been collected into the history of contemporary painting, Chinese contemporary ink painting 1949-1999, history of Chinese contemporary art, and complete collections of Chinese contemporary art 1878-2008.
