Live Bar February 28, 2020 Serie B Parma club officially announced that it has renewed its contract with team goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon until June 2024, when Buffon will turn 46.

In 1991, at the age of 13, Buffon joined the Parma Juniors. In 1995, at the age of 17, Buffon made his Serie A debut. In 2001, Buffon moved to Juventus for a transfer fee of 54.1 million euros, breaking the record for the highest transfer fee for a goalkeeper. During his first time at Parma, he made 220 appearances for the team and completed 85 clean sheets.

On 7 July 2018, Buffon joined Ligue 1 Paris Saint-Germain, signing a "1+1" contract with Paris. During his time at Paris Saint-Germain, he made 25 appearances in all competitions for the team, completing 9 clean sheets.

On 4 July 2019, Buffon returned to Juventus. On May 11, 2021, Buffon said in an interview that he would leave Juve after the end of the season. During his nineteen years at Juventus, Buffon made 685 appearances for the team, completing 322 clean sheets.

For the national team, on 29 October 1997, the 19-year-old Buffon made his debut as a substitute for the national team. Buffon made a total of 176 appearances for the Italian national team, completing 77 clean sheets. Helped the Italian national team win the World Cup in 2006 and the runner-up in Euro 2012. On November 14, 2017, Italy missed the 2018 World Cup, after which Buffon announced his retirement from the Italian national team.
