The Chinese delegation achieved its best result in a single Winter Olympics. And when the Beijing Winter Olympics are over, how will the ice and snow boom in the land of Shenzhou continue? As a professional scholar who has been engaged in Olympic-related research for many years, Qiu Zhaoyi, who has served as the referee of the World Cup and the World Championships in the ice and snow project, has a unique insight into this.

In his view, in a sense, the Beijing Winter Olympics means the beginning of the "first year of China's ice and snow". The Winter Olympics sowed the seeds of ice and snow in China, and it will grow deeply and leafy on the land of China.

Sino-Singapore Sports: You have specialized in sports-related majors at home and abroad, how can the two help you in the accumulation of sports expertise and the development of your academic context? From the scientific research management of the Competition Training Department to the work of the Sports Equipment and Equipment Center of the General Administration of Sports, has the transfer of posts had an impact on the academic research direction?

Qiu Zhaoyi: Sports includes both competitive sports that compete for gold and silver, as well as mass sports, youth sports and the sports industry. After studying and further training, you can have a deeper understanding of sports and grasp the overall development direction of sports at home and abroad.

My academic research focuses on both the culture and history of sports. The mountains and rivers are exotic, the wind and moon are the same day, and the two posts are interlaced without separating the mountains. The sports industry is becoming more and more specialized, and in the scientific research management of the Competition Training Department and the front-line work of the Sports Equipment and Equipment Center of the State General Administration of Sport, I can look at things at different levels, have a deeper understanding of sports, and also contribute to the further development of scholarship.

In addition to your academic status, you are also the international A-level referee of the INTERNATIONAL Snow Federation Freestyle Skiing, and have served as the referee of the Ice and Snow World Cup and the World Championships for many times. In your opinion, does what you experience in one identity also have a revelation for the work of another identity? What was the most profound feeling in the process of traveling to the world to administer the referee?

Qiu Zhaoyi: In fact, there are not too many obstacles between the two identities in the transition, and they are all centered on sports. Sport promotes all-round human development, and better communication with international officials on the platform of international scoring and refereeing is a complementary process with engaging in academia.

The difference in the atmosphere of ice and snow in different places is the most profound aspect. The differences between Chinese and Western sports cultures are very large, especially in winter sports. A few years ago, I would envy the ice and snow atmosphere of others.

When I first went out to referee, after arriving in the Czech Republic, the game was played in the mountains, but the mountains were full of men, women and children to watch the game. Ice and snow are a gift of nature, and teenagers enjoy it.

At the 2008 World Cup in Moscow, scaffolding was set up in the square for a freestyle skiing aerial skill competition, and more than 100,000 young people came to watch the competition. Indeed, I can constantly feel the love of foreign youth groups for sports and ice and snow.

We have also had a lot of good places in recent years, and by hosting the Winter Olympics, we have been narrowing the gap with foreign countries.

Sino-Singapore Sports: You are a lecturer in the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee Publicity Group, dedicated to promoting ice and snow sports. From a professional point of view, how can we integrate ice and snow culture with the history of the Winter Olympics in the process of preaching? Will "interesting content" be incorporated to improve communication efficiency?

Qiu Zhaoyi: When we treat anything, we never understand the process of interest and love. Taking advantage of the East Wind of the Winter Olympics, it is very necessary to integrate culture into the knowledge of historical development in the propaganda. Taking history as a mirror, we can know the laws of historical development, get inspiration from them, and understand the development process of the Winter Olympic Games. After that, the social development process of western developed countries is discussed, and the ice and snow culture and the history of the Winter Olympics are closely integrated.

When promoting sports and healthy lifestyles, fun really should be a priority. Only when you are interested in it will your attitude change.

But the Winter Olympics have already been held in China, and we should have a stronger incentive to participate in ice and snow sports. North China, such as Beijing and Tianjin, and the eastern coastal areas along the river, can already carry the development of ice and snow sports. Therefore, we should take the Winter Olympics as an opportunity to let young people participate in it as soon as possible, and turn participation in ice and snow sports into a habitual way of life. Interest is important, but sports are also fun, which is the value of sports.

Sino-Singapore Sports: You have participated in the Winter Olympics reading lectures, sharing ice and snow sports culture with college students and explaining the knowledge related to the Winter Olympics. In the course of the lecture, what do you think is the current popularity of snow sports among teenagers?

Qiu Zhaoyi: This is very gratifying and gratifying. The inspirational power of the Winter Olympics can enable more young people to participate in ice and snow sports. At the beginning of our bid for the Olympic Games, we put forward the slogan of "bringing 300 million people to participate in ice and snow sports", and now this goal has been achieved. Ice and snow sports are a very special form of sports, whether it is for individuals or countries, it plays an important role.

Sino-Singapore Sports: As a doctoral supervisor of Beijing Sport University, how to stimulate students' enthusiasm for participating in ice and snow sports in daily teaching and communication?

Qiu Zhaoyi: I ask students to engage in a sport for a long time, and only when you personally participate in it can you better understand it and apply it in practice. I often tell them that the agricultural civilization has passed, and don't say "eat it" when you meet. In the new lifestyle, more free time is allocated to exercise, and it should be greeted with "Have you exercised?"

In fact, ice and snow sports are not far away from us, including roller skating and other sports can promote its promotion. Now on the campus of Beijing Sport University, roller skating students can be seen everywhere. National team athletes also train through roller skating in the summer.

For students who lack a foundation in sports, I recommend that they do 50 squats a day to help them stand on the snowboard for longer.

Sino-Singapore Sports: Riding on the east wind of the Beijing Winter Olympics, more and more Chinese teenagers are entering the ice rink and snow field. How do you see this phenomenon? How can this enthusiasm be better sustained after the Beijing Winter Olympics?

Qiu Zhaoyi: Putting the top ice and snow events on the doorstep of the family to celebrate the New Year with us can stimulate the national spirit of young people. People will also have higher demands with social progress. After the Winter Olympics, people's demand will increase.

The end of the Beijing Winter Olympics does not mean that the ice and snow will melt. Sowing the seeds of ice and snow in China and growing up in deep roots and leaves on the land of China, the Winter Olympics is not just an end, but the beginning of the "first year of China's ice and snow".

Sino-Singapore Sports: You once said that "one of the important symbols of the progress of social civilization is the development of ice and snow sports." "In your opinion, what role do teenagers who participate in ice and snow sports play in it?

Qiu Zhaoyi: In the process of human history, sports are an important element. Modern sports, including the Winter Olympic Movement, are the products of modern social life. Outdoor sports such as skating and skiing can give people a primitive, bloody, and challenging trial.

To some extent, the development of sports is related to the future and destiny of the country, and there are laws to follow.

With a strong culture of sports, it represents the future of society and the nation. Especially ice and snow sports, it is the most primitive, the most wild sport, young people participate in it, there will be a new cultural atmosphere.

Sino-Singapore Sports: In general, what are the specific implications for Chinese youth in the successful hosting of the Beijing Winter Olympics?

Qiu Zhaoyi: Sports need to be led by events. Previously, Peking University held the "Peking University Ski Cup", including alpine skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and many other events are widely carried out with the beijing Winter Olympics.

In fact, it is not necessary to get a gold medal, and after all, a small number of people can get medals, which conveys an active and healthy lifestyle.

The spirit of the Olympics mainly refers to the philosophy of life that balances the development of the body, will and spirit. The successful hosting of the Winter Olympics will set an example for society. Under his leadership, he hopes that China can be like the slogan of "a strong youth is a strong country", and it is renewed. (End)
