Nintendo today (February 24) officially announced that it will formally acquire software development vendor SRD Co., Ltd. as a wholly-owned subsidiary, aiming to strengthen Nintendo's operating base and ensure that the future development process will improve the stability of resources and development efficiency, and the acquisition will be implemented on April 1.
In fact, SRD has been assisting in the development of Nintendo first-party games under Nintendo since its establishment in 1983 (nearly 40 years), and currently has 139 employees, including the development of series such as "The Legend of Zelda", "Mario", "Animal Friends", "Wii Fit", "Star Kirby" and so on, and even one of its offices is located in the Nintendo Kyoto headquarters building, which has long been a de facto subsidiary of Nintendo.
