But will aliens really invade Earth like they did in the movies? No matter how technologically advanced an alien race is, does it really need an entire army to attack another planet? The galaxies we live in are relatively young compared to other galaxies, but we all know that life thrives in them. If there had been an alien race looking for other signs of life, we probably wouldn't have gone undetected yet. One moment you may be sitting at your desk thinking about what to eat for lunch, the next second you are touched by higher abilities from aliens, and you can't even check your phone to see if there are any up-to-date news messages, and then there's the physical assault. But then again, any alien army capable enough to invade our planet may not expose itself to potential danger. Rather than sending living creatures to fight, we are more likely to be attacked by robots, because robot armies do not die, robot soldiers can be repaired and replaced, they can be manipulated remotely, and they can also achieve the best combat value by enhancing their performance.

Without a slow invasion of Earth, the best way for an alien race to quickly and completely dominate is full-scale biological warfare. If it wasn't for asteroids, then perhaps they raised the civilization level – Kaldashev – to the point where they could control natural disasters, and connect anything from storms to waves in order to catch us off guard on our own turf. In fact, aggressive alien races have invaded us in countless ways.
Some we can identify (such as mechanized robot armies), some we don't know until it's too late (such as increasing exposure to alien viruses), and then others we can recognize his nature rather than invisible enemies behind them (such as redirecting asteroids). Iconic science fiction writer Arthur Clark famously said, "Any technology that is advanced enough is no different from magic." But as far as invasions are concerned, for any civilization that is advanced enough, they don't need to pay too much attention to themselves.
