The award ceremony of the 2022 China Soong Ching Ling Foundation "Youth Cultural Ambassador" Competition was recently held online. Suken Fatima and Ali Shahyar, students of the Confucius Classroom of the Millennium confucius classroom of Pakistan and the Petro Naval Officer College recommended by the Pakistan Chinese Cultural Center, were awarded the title of "Youth Cultural Ambassadors".
The "Youth Cultural Ambassador" campaign was officially launched in June 2021, with the theme of "Building Dreams for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics", inviting Chinese and foreign teenagers to carry out online cultural exchanges, attracting young people from all over the world to participate in the activities. The Chinese Cultural Center of Pakistan, the Millennium Confucius Classroom, and the Confucius Classroom of the Petro Naval Officers College are actively involved. Young people from 32 countries participated online, telling the story of China's historical civilization and the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics through videos, sending blessings to the Beijing Winter Olympics.
Six of the 100 students selected in the primary are from Pakistan. After several rounds of selection and online voting by the event evaluation committee, 30 "Youth Cultural Ambassadors" titles, "Excellence Awards" and 20 "Popularity Awards" were selected from around the world. Of the 30 "Youth Cultural Ambassadors", 10 are from China and 20 are from 18 countries overseas. Hafner Khan, Amroz Ali and Muhammad Hasnay Ali of the Millennium Confucius Classroom and the Confucius Classroom of the Petaro Military Academy in Pakistan received the "Excellence Award"; two other Pakistani students, Li Youyan and Han Mingsheng, also received the "Popularity Award".
At the award ceremony, Ali Shahyar's video was selected as an outstanding work. Suken Fatima and Ali Shahyar delivered acceptance speeches on behalf of pakistani youth, expressing their good wishes for the Beijing Winter Olympics and China-Pakistan friendship. Ali Shahyar said that "Youth Cultural Ambassador" is not only a title, but also an inspiration for himself.
The award ceremony was jointly sponsored by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and the Overseas Chinese Cultural Center, and hosted by the China Soong Ching Ling Youth Science and Culture Center.
