Intel dug the wall again amD GPU architects were poached

Since Intel's new CEO, Pat Gelsinger, let any of them come, he has frequently recruited chip bulls from other companies to join Intel, especially for former Intel "veterans" who have worked with Kilsinger to return to Intel. According to foreign technology media tomshardware, Intel announced earlier this week that it poached AMD chip guru Rohit Verma from AMD.

Verma has been with AMD since 2013 and serves as lead SoC architect for projects such as standalone GPUs, and Verma also enjoys a reputation as an AMD Senior Fellow.

Verma worked as an AMD Fellow and Lead SoC Architect in the Semi-Custom Business Unit (4 years and 11 months) before becoming an AMD Independent GPU Senior Fellow and Lead SoC Architect (3 years and 3 months). During his more than eight-year career at AMD, Verma worked on projects ranging from discrete graphics cards for desktops and laptops to broader SoC architecture designs involving CPUs, GPUs, fabrics, power management, and security.

Interestingly, Rohit Verma, the new Lead Product Architect for the current Intel Unique GPU SOC, served as The Lead SoC Architect at Intel from 1999 to 2013.

Verma's 15-year tenure at Intel overlaps quite a bit with that of current Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger. As a reminder, Gelsinger joined Intel in 1979 as an 18-year-old quality control technician. When Verma began his career at Intel in 1999, Gelsinger had assumed the role of General Manager of Intel's Desktop Products Division and would become Intel's first Chief Technology Officer in 2001.

Pat Gelsinger returned to Intel as the new CEO in 2021, ushering in a rather turbulent period. It's confusing to think that the blue-blooded Intel boss only took the helm a year ago.

With his broad vision and knowledge of the dramatic changes needed to achieve his vision, we've seen Gelsinger recruit several former veteran team members to rejoin. And re-establish a proven, trustworthy personal and professional bond.

A quote from Gelsinger aptly sums up the situation at Intel in 2022 – "Brain drain, which has changed." Our talent is back now. ”

"It's a pleasure to be back at Intel and look forward to working with the team to define and build innovative next-generation GPU products!"
