With the holding of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, the sales of handmade and commemorative badges such as the mascot "Ice Pier" and "Snow Rongrong" are extremely hot, and some merchants also want to use the "Winter Olympics" to advertise and sell. On February 17, Hainan Cool Bird Culture Communication Co., Ltd. was investigated and punished by the Qiongshan Branch of the Haikou Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau for launching the "Winter Olympic Package" for publicity. It is understood that this is the first case of infringement of the Winter Olympics investigated and handled by Hainan Province.
After on-site investigation by law enforcement personnel, the merchant not only erected a billboard with pictures such as "Fun Winter Olympics and Happy New Year" outside the business premises, but also used the word "Winter Olympics" at the price sign at the indoor cash register. The merchant failed to provide the proof of authorized use of the Olympic Committee at the scene, and the business behavior was suspected of violating the relevant provisions of laws and regulations such as the Advertising Law of the People's Republic of China, the Anti-Unfair Competition Law of the People's Republic of China, the Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China, the Regulations on the Protection of Olympic Symbols, and the Regulations on the Administration of Special Marks, and the law enforcement personnel agreed to file a case for investigation when the leaders of the daily newspaper bureau agreed to file a case.
