TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Bay Pirates quarterback Tom Brady not only got scared when his parents tested positive for COVID-19 last year — he himself was diagnosed with the condition in February.
In an interview with the Tampa Bay Times on Saturday, Brady revealed that he tested positive for the virus in February, just after the Pirates' Super Bowl cruise.
Brady also said that while the Pirates now have a 100 percent vaccination rate, he believes this year's coronavirus will be an even bigger challenge — becoming the second NFL team behind the Atlanta Falcons to reach that threshold.
"Actually, I think this year is going to play a more part than last year, and it's just because of what we're doing now, what the stadium is like, what the travel is like and people are in the building and in the fans," Brady said. "It's not like last year, although we were tested like last year. It will be, I definitely think the players will be out at different moments and we just have to deal with it. ”
