The Hohhot Cd-operative Center for Disease Control and Prevention has completed the genetic sequencing of the virus in the samples of the first 3 confirmed cases found in this round of the epidemic, and the sequencing results are reported to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region CDC and the China CDC for comparison. The comparison results showed that the new coronavirus genes belonged to the Delta strain (AY.122 evolutionary branch), and no homologous sequences were found in the domestic native case and imported case databases. The circulation of subsequent confirmed cases and the traceability of the epidemic are still ongoing.
How did the outbreak spread?
According to the press conference on epidemic prevention and control in Hohhot, the epidemic was mainly caused by two wedding banquets (a total of 23 tables and 165 people) held in a hotel in the new urban area on February 8.
