In the GPU part, the Kirin 9000L uses the 18-core Mail G78 architecture. For comparison, the GPU cores of the Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E are 24 and 22, respectively.
NPU part, Kirin 9000L has only one large core NPU, Kirin 9000 is a dual large core NPU + micro-core NPU, and Kirin 9000E is a large-core NPU + micro-core NPU.
If the above news is true, the specifications and positioning of kirin 9000L are not as good as kirin 9000 and kirin 9000E, so there is also a certain gap in performance. In addition, because it is the use of Samsung 5nm process, whether the power consumption control can be as good as the other two, I am afraid that it will also have to be a question mark.

In fact, about the Kirin 9000L, it was exposed last year. Previously, there was a saying that Huawei adopted a dual backup strategy when producing the Kirin 9000 series, part of which was handed over to TSMC and part of which was handed over to other manufacturers. However, the Kirin 9000L should have been produced before the sanctions, which means that this chip, like the Kirin 9000, cannot be replenished after consumption, and if it is exhausted, Huawei will still face the problem of no core available.
The mobile phone equipped with this chip is called "Huawei Mate40E Pro 5G", from the name, this phone may use the appearance design of Mate40 Pro, and then make a distinction between the chip, image and other parts.
So in 2022, we may still see the launch of the Mate40 series derivatives. In addition, Huawei's Mate50 series was exposed to be released this summer, and the time was similar to last year's P50 series, just for reference.
It is worth noting that not only the Mate series, the P50 series also has a new machine this year, which is a mobile phone called "Huawei P50E", the chip is unknown, but it is still a 4G mobile phone according to the introduction.
After Huawei's mobile phone business encountered obstacles, in order to survive, the focus of Huawei's terminal products is expected to shift to other types of products. So this year, we can still see the iterative updates of Huawei's other product lines, such as tablets, watches, headphones, smart screens and other products. Mobile phone products will also be updated, but the update frequency naturally cannot be compared with the previous sanctions.
