Xixi Wetland
Recently, Xixi Wetland stocked 1,500 fry such as grass carp and bream in 43 ponds with serious aquatic weeds such as duckweed. A group of small fish fry shouldering the responsibility of "controlling water" swim into one pond after another, start a new journey in Xixi Wetland, and use their own small strength to help create beautiful Hangzhou.

The geography of "Range Rover Wantang" is a unique landmark landscape of Xixi Wetland. Due to the small area of some ponds, the lack of fluidity of the water body, the vegetation on the shore of the pond is luxuriant, and the water surface is more shady, which leads to the flooding and growth of aquatic grasses such as duckweed in the pond water body, and every summer, the water surface will be covered with floating plants such as locust leaf ping, four-leaf ping, and manjiang red, looking like a piece of "green carpet" in the distance.
A small amount of duckweed can absorb nitrogen and phosphorus substances in the water, reduce the eutrophication of the water body, and play a water purification effect, but if the duckweed is too much, covering the water surface, the aquatic grass in the water will die due to lack of light, and the fish in the water are also prone to die of lack of oxygen, so that the water quality becomes poor.
For this problem, in the past, Xixi Wetland generally used manual salvage, but after salvage, less than a week duckweed will grow the entire pond again, so that the cycle is repeated, time-consuming and labor-intensive, and it cannot solve this problem once and for all.
"Small fish control water" is a new form of water control that has emerged in recent years, and aquatic organisms, especially fish, play a vital role in maintaining the ecological balance of waters and purifying water quality.
Xixi Wetland uses the characteristics of fish filtering algae and aquatic weeds to prevent the flooding of aquatic plants in the pond, improve water quality, improve water eutrophication, and maintain the ecological balance of the pond water body by stocking grass carp, bream and other fry, so as to maintain the ecological balance of the pond water body.
Since the implementation of the comprehensive protection project in 2003, the surface water quality of Xixi Wetland has been upgraded from inferior V. to Class II water standard. Xixi Wetland, which has good water quality, green plants and abundant fish, attracts a variety of water birds such as egrets and gray herons.

Welcome the arrival of the Asian Games with the beautiful scenery of the four seasons in Jiangyangpa Park.

This season harvests reeds, on the one hand, to ensure its growth and landscape in the spring and autumn of the following year, and to reduce the impact of residual leaves on the water quality of the reservoir area. If the dead reeds are not harvested in time, it is easy to cause the new branches and leaves to be not stiff enough, and even produce problems such as moldy plants.
The reeds of Jiangyangpa cover an area of about 25,000 square meters and are distributed around the wooden boardwalk.
Before harvesting, the masters will carry out a small area of dredging around the downstream drain to facilitate drainage in the reservoir area. After the water level drops significantly, the garden workers who become "barbers" can enter the central part of the reservoir area to harvest.
Push off the towering foliage, leaving only the flat stubble at the root 5-10 cm high, which can protect the new shoots to some extent. Most of the harvested reeds are cleared centrally, leaving only a small part of the fallen leaves on the reeds to maintain soil nutrient balance.
The stubble of fresh "flat head" is increasing under the hands of the masters, and the view of the wetland has gradually broadened, and nearly one-fifth of the reeds in the reservoir area have been harvested, and the clean-up work is expected to last for two weeks.
While harvesting reeds, garden workers will also take away the garbage in the reservoir area, they work hard with their simple hands, it is their persistence and dedication in the post, in exchange for the new appearance of the four seasons of Jiangyangpa Park, for the construction of scenic landscaping and laying a solid foundation for the creation of "Beautiful Hangzhou".
