"Mei Yu Match" is a traditional classic preserved play of Fujian Experimental Min Theater, which is a "family drama". In 1918, Mr. Zheng Yishou, a Fujian opera titan with the reputation of "Fujian Mei Lanfang", premiered "Mei Yu Match", and he also became famous by playing the protagonist Su Zhenyu in the play, and at the same time, this play also made Li Mingyu, Guo Xizhu, Lin Ying and many other Famous Fujian opera artists. More than a hundred years have passed, this play has been passed down from seven generations of actors, and has been performed thousands of times so far, which has endured for a long time and is deeply loved by the audience. As a classic drama, "Mei Yu Match" has been selected for the "Audio-Visual" project of Chinese opera, the 2022 Talent Training Project of the National Arts Fund, and so on.

In this "Lantern Fujian Opera Evening", the theater presented the Canadian villagers with the "Mei Yu Match" starring the sixth generation of actors, and the lineup was strong. Starring Zhou Hong, a first-class actor, winner of the Wenhua Performance Award and the Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Award, and two "Plum Blossom Award" actors, Chen Qiong and Chen Hongxiang, they played their sister-in-law Shen Hongfang, sister-in-law Su Zhenyu, and Xu Jinmei, a scholar, respectively, and also gathered Zhu Shangen, a provincial-level non-hereditary heir of Fujian opera, and many outstanding Fujian opera actors such as first-class actors Ni Aimin and Xiao Cuiyun.

Zhou Hong, president of Fujian Experimental Min Theater, first-class actor, Wenhua Performance Award and winner of the Chinese Drama Plum Blossom Award, said that in addition to having profound artistic value on the stage of Fujian opera, the Evening Party also has special significance in the dissemination of overseas religious and folk culture, and at the same time, the evening party integrates Canada's multiculturalism to highlight cultural inheritance as the context, and the majority of overseas audiences and friends have a deep understanding of non-heritage Fujian opera, understand opera culture, and jointly disseminate Traditional Chinese culture in the process of enjoying Fujian opera together.
