Hungarian captain Adam Sholoy bid farewell to Mainz 05 again, and after the agreement was terminated, he switched to Swiss super powerhouse Basel for free, signing until the summer of 2023.
Sauroy joined Mainz for the first time from Real Madrid II in early 2010 and formed the "Mainz Band" with Holtby and Schülller in the 2010/11 season, leading Mainz to a seven-game winning streak in the bundesliga start. He played until the summer of 2013, when he switched to Schalke 04.
In the summer of 2019, Sholoy returned from Hoffenheim. Last season, he was suspended by then-coach BelLotzel, triggering a locker room mutiny. With Bayerlotzel and sporting director Ruben Schroeder leaving, the dressing room leader returned in the second half to help the team relegate. Entering the season, due to injuries, Sholoy, whose form was clearly declining, only made 2 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Bundesliga, scoring 1 goal. In two appearances, he scored 28 goals in 146 official matches for Mainz in two appearances. #Bundesliga ##德甲 #
