Chang Baohua was born in Tianjin in December 1930. Chang Baohua's father, Chang Lian'an, is the founder of Chang's cross-talk and is good at stand-up comedy.
In the 1940s, Chang Lian'an founded the Qiming Tea Society in Xidan, Beijing, and also introduced business philosophy to the cross-talk industry. Chang Baohua was 8 years old to the Qiming Tea Society Cross-talk Conference as an apprentice, 9 years old to perform on stage, 21-year-old cross-talk master Ma Sanli as a teacher, studied and performed more than 70 traditional cross-talk, over the years to create (including cooperation) cross-talk, sketches, Allegro and other works more than 170.
He is a famous cross-talk performance artist in China, and his apprentices include Zhao Fuyu, Niu Qun and others. Chang Baohua has been active on the stage for more than 70 years, and it can be said that he has dedicated his life's energy to the cause of cross-talk.

Subsequently, Chang Baohua's grandson and happy twist actor Chang Yuan officially released an obituary in the name of the studio, confirming the news of the old man's death. According to the obituary, "Mr. Chang Baohua passed away at the Beijing Naval General Hospital at 10:46 a.m. on September 7, 2018 at the age of 88. When Mr. Chang Baohua was dying, he looked serene, as if he was asleep, and his family and apprentices were all with him, and he returned with no regrets. ”
It is understood that Chang Baohua has been plagued by asthma for many years, but he has always been quite optimistic. In an interview in 2013, Chang Baohua talked about his physical condition and joked with the people present, "Last year I had a serious illness, which destroyed my practice for more than 500 years." ”
