GUYTON, UK , Feb. 17, 2022 – British luxury car company Jaguar Land Rover announced a multi-year strategic partnership with NVIDIA, a global leader in ai-power computing. The two companies will work together on the development of a new generation of autonomous driving systems and the upgrading of customer service experiences empowered by artificial intelligence (AI).

It is expected that from 2025 onwards, all Jaguar Land Rover models will be built on the software-defined platform of NVIDIA DRIVE, providing a full range of active safety, autonomous driving, driver assistance systems and parking systems. The vehicle cockpit will also present more features that incorporate artificial intelligence technology, including real-time monitoring of the status of the occupants in the car and a high degree of visualization of the vehicle's surrounding environment.
Built on NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion, this full-stack solution accelerates development, testing and validation on the road to mass production by integrating DRIVE Orin-based AI computing with a complete sensor suite. This self-driving car platform has a complete software stack for autonomous driving (DRIVE AV), as well as driver monitoring and visualization (DRIVE IX) and a safe and reliable network system. If the system-level chip is the artificial intelligence brain of Jaguar Land Rover's future models and the systems in which it operates, the self-driving car platform will become the central nervous system.
Jaguar Land Rover will also leverage solutions from its in-house Data Development Center, combined with the Deep Neural Network Training Platform (NVIDIA DGX), to train AI models together, and build a new generation of autonomous vehicle simulation software with NVIDIA Omniverse, an open platform for virtual collaboration and physically accurate real-time simulations, to enable accurate real-time physics simulation. Jaguar Land Rover's software-defined capabilities and end-to-end software validation and validation architecture provide innovative driver assistance and autonomous driving services throughout the vehicle's lifecycle through wireless software updates.
