On January 6, 2022, Geely Automobile announced its full-year 2021 sales figures: 1,328,029 units. At the same time, geely automobile sales target for 2022 was announced: 1.65 million units. This means that in order to ensure the achievement of the 320,000-unit increment, Geely Automobile needs to achieve an average monthly sales volume of 137,500 units, an increase of 24% year-on-year for the whole year.

Considering the macro trend of the industry, for Geely Automobile, the goal of 2022 is still a big challenge.

On the first day of construction after the Spring Festival holiday, Geely Automobile Group CEO Gan Jiayue released a New Year message of more than 3,000 words under the title of "Releasing the Glory of Every Geely Person". In the message, in addition to summarizing the performance of Geely Automobile in 2021, Xian Jiayue also emphasized the role of undertaking in 2021 - opening the "Smart Geely 2025" strategy, and the pure electric modular architecture, Lei Shen Zhi Qing, on-board chips, intelligent software, data systems, etc. have begun to be fully laid out.

According to the production and sales data of Geely Automobile in January recently released, in the first month of the new year, Geely Automobile sold a total of 146,400 vehicles, although the year-on-year data declined, but Geely Automobile's new year start was up to standard (in January 2021, Geely Automobile sales increased by about 40% year-on-year to 156,300 units, and the year-on-year decline was related to the higher year-on-year base last year).

In January, Geely Automobile sold 59,159 cars and 85,598 SUVs. Among them, Geely (including geometry) sold 122,833 units, Lynk & Co Sold 18,334 units in January, and China Star sold 25,077 units in January... However, this string of data is only of official statistical significance.

The really interesting data is here: in January, Geely Automobile's new energy models (including Geely, Geometry, Extreme Krypton, and Ruilan) sold 17,928 units, of which pure electric models increased by about 641% year-on-year, a record high.

Splitting the data, it can be found that Geely Automobile's sales of traditional fuel vehicles in January were 128,500 units, and although the sales of new energy vehicles were high, their sales in the Geely automobile system accounted for only 12.2%.

On the one hand, this shows that Geely Automobile's traditional fuel vehicle products have outstanding market appeal in the market, and according to the existing product layout and launch situation, this momentum will continue for a long time; on the other hand, it also shows that Geely Automobile still has this huge potential in the field of new energy vehicles that needs to be tapped (on February 14, the Association released data showing that the domestic retail penetration rate of new energy vehicles in January was 16.6%, of which the penetration rate of new energy vehicles in independent brands reached 31.4%.) The performance of pure electric models based on the CMA architecture, geometry A, geometry C, and Emgrand EV is also very eye-catching. The Geometry brand sold 10,229 units in January, and SEA, Geely's most advanced vehicle architecture in the field of pure electricity, produced its first model, the Extreme Kr 001, which was delivered in October 2021 and exceeded 10,000 units in just 110 days.

Some research institutions have previously analyzed that with the decline of new energy subsidies and the increase in the encouragement of energy-saving fuel vehicles by the "double integral" policy, the market for energy-saving vehicles with dual-motor architecture has broad prospects and predicts that energy-saving vehicles (HEV+PHEV) will reach 50% penetration rate in 2025.

In 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology aims to achieve a fuel consumption of 4 liters per 100 kilometers for passenger cars, which is more stringent, and hybrid vehicles are an effective means of reducing fuel consumption. According to estimates, by 2025, the penetration rate of pure electric and hybrid vehicles in the passenger car market will be 28% and 25%, respectively, which can meet the minimum point requirements, and hybrid sales are expected to reach 6.35 million units, with a compound growth of 66.5%.

At present, Geely has built a product layout where cars + SUVs, fuel + new energy, performance + energy saving coexist. It is understood that the next Raytheon power system will also be equipped with more than 20 models of Geely, Lynk & Co and other brands. When the technology and products encounter the huge market demand that needs to be released urgently, Geely Automobile seems to have come to the stands of the new energy vehicle and hybrid (oil-electric hybrid + plug-in hybrid) market era in advance.

Just like "three years old to see the old", the Geely car in 2025 is determined by the appearance of this year. At present, the market and the industry have confidence in Geely Automobile. This is supported by the strongest sense of smell in capital markets.
