The auspicious and happy song and dance programs, lively and festive opera performances, and innovative folk interactions, through various communication terminals, "cloud gathering" with villagers at home and abroad have a big party, narrate hometown feelings, and help build a culturally strong province with art events.
Global hipsters "gathered" to make the Lantern Festival
The "Warm Hometown Year" Global Hipster Lantern Festival kicked off in the magnificent Chaozhou Gong and Drum "Tiger and Lion Noisy Spring", and the Chao music ensemble "Symphony of Great Tides" with distinct regional cultural characteristics sent warm greetings for the New Year to the hipster villagers around the world. Singapore New Arts Performing Arts performed the Teochew song "I Love Chaoshan Snacks", showing the charm of Chaoshan dialect and characteristic snacks for the audience; shantou university students sang the song "Spring Wind Ten Mile Newspaper New Year", "Yunju" celebrated the Lantern Festival with students in Shantou; Xiao Yuyi, who scored a unique goal in the final of the women's Asian Cup, and hipsters from all over the world sent New Year wishes to villagers around the world through the program.
The acrobatic group dance "Far Across the South Sea", the song "Chaoshan Wind", and the dance drama "A Hundred Years of Overseas Chinese Heart" tell the story of the arduous pioneering process of overseas Chinese in a foreign country, the strong feelings of home and country are moving, and the spirit of overseas Chinese contains many connotations such as hard work, bravery, diligence and thrift, honesty, patriotism and love of the country, urging people to forge ahead and inherit endlessly.
Teachers and students are widely used to "make koway" and observe folk customs
As a traditional Chinese festival, the Lantern Festival is indispensable to eat tangyuan, enjoy flower lanterns, make traditional folk customs such as making kway teows. During the cloud party, the host took everyone to feel the fireworks in the opening area of the small park, lingered in the exhibition hall of intangible cultural heritage, watched the English song and dance, Chenghai Ao fish dance, centipede dance, etc., and relived the Chaoshan customs such as the New Year parade and lantern lanterns, and the festive atmosphere was full of joy and celebration everywhere.
The Lantern Festival is a day of reunion, and the programs with a strong festive atmosphere such as the song "Selling Tangyuan" and the dance "Ballad of the Moon Lantern" have aroused the empathy of villagers at home and abroad. Under the leadership of the inheritors of chao-style kway teow making skills, teachers and students of Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology jointly learned the production skills of tangyuan and kueh, DIY Shantou cuisine, so that the audience felt the warmth of the Lantern Festival reunion.
The new look of the city welcomes the Asian Youth Congress
In the cloud party, "Shantou City Theme Song Singing" took the audience to "feast" on Shantou's new city image, humanistic customs and gastronomic beauty in the song. Small parks, cultural venues, Lao Ma's Palace, Overseas Chinese Economic and Cultural Cooperation Pilot Zone, the main venue of the Asian Youth Association and other urban landmarks are used as scenes, and different art forms such as original songs and dances, short videos, and Chao opera singing segments are integrated to spread the family, happy year and Chinese flavor of Shantou New Year.
In 2022, Shantou will usher in the third Asian Youth Games. At present, all the venues of the Shantou Asian Youth Congress have been completed after the day and night efforts of the project builders. The group dance "Builder" pays tribute to all builders; the song and dance "Helping the Winter Olympics Together to the Future" burst out with passion, presenting a Shantou full of youth and vitality to the world, pushing the party to a climax.
In the singing of "The Sea, Hometown" of the Wuzhou University, the representatives of the tide of the four seas, foreign friends, and international students sang a song together, and the cloud party also came to an end. With thousands of lights shining in the lights and bright moons, folk culture is an important part of traditional Chinese culture.
