In general, when the ignition switch is turned on, the charging indicator is on, and when the engine starts, the alternator begins to work normally, and the charging indicator is turned off. If the charging indicator is still not extinguished or suddenly lit when the engine and alternator are working normally, it means that the charging system of the vehicle is faulty and requires the driver to overhaul.
The reason and solution of the charging indicator light being on constantly
First, the battery aging is caused, which is also one of the most common reasons, because after the battery is aging, its storage and discharge capacity will drop sharply, which will trigger the early warning of the charging indicator of the instrument. The battery life of the general car is about 2-3 years, it is recommended that the owner of the car friends can always have a ride treasure in the car, so that even if the battery is aging and there is a failure of power, there is no need to spend money to find someone to take the power, you can solve it yourself.
Solution to the cause of such failure: Replace the battery with a new one. However, it should be noted that the positive and negative poles cannot be reversed during the replacement process, otherwise part of the control module may be burned. The second is caused by the damage to the generator, it will not be damaged after the vehicle will no longer generate electricity, the ECU detects that the generator is not generating electricity when it will light the charging indicator warning, because the electricity used by the vehicle at this time comes from the battery, if it goes on for a long time, it will also lead to damage to the battery. In addition, the damage to the wiring harness associated with the generator can also cause the same problem, such as shorting the excitation line or the signal feedback line is broken, etc., and only the damaged wiring harness needs to be repaired when solving.

Third, the belt that drives the generator is broken, which will also lead to the charging indicator of the vehicle, which is because most models still use the belt to drive the generator, if the belt is broken, it is equivalent to the generator cannot work, and it will also be accompanied by heavy steering, no brakes, stalls and other fault phenomena.
Solutions to the cause of such failures: Replace the generator belt and reinstall it. If it is damaged, it will cause the current signal to be undetected, resulting in a fault light.
