On February 14, the International Olympic Committee and the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee jointly held a regular press conference on the 14th. At the meeting, relevant personnel introduced that the Beijing Winter Olympics is the winter Olympic Games with the highest proportion of female athletes participating, and women play an important role in the organization and management of the event, and the organizing committee has also taken a variety of measures to protect the rights and interests of all female Olympic personnel.

Yan Jiarong, spokesman for the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, said that the Beijing Winter Olympics is the highest proportion of female athletes participating in the Winter Olympic Games, with a proportion of 45%, and the number of projects in which female athletes participate has reached the largest number in history, among all 109 sub-events, women's events have reached 46, and 4 mixed and team events.

She introduced that the new project also fully considers the participation of female athletes. Among the 7 new sub-events, 2 are women's individual events, 4 are mixed group events, and only 1 is men's single event. This fully reflects the content of the Olympic Agenda 2020 on promoting the concept of gender equality in the Movement. Yan Jiarong revealed that among the staff of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, the proportion of female employees is not less than 40%, and the proportion of female volunteers is not less than 50%.

In addition, the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee also provides a safe competition and living environment for female athletes and Olympic-related personnel. In the comprehensive clinics in the three Winter Olympic villages, the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee has set up special women's diagnosis and treatment rooms, and also equipped with professional gynecologists to provide them with diagnosis and treatment services.
