It seemed like a big step forward in success, but the problem came up so quickly that one of the conditions of Winston Groom, the writer of Forrest Gump at the time, was to let him try to write the script. Filming was finally about to begin after nearly 10 years, but Paramount CEO Shirley Lansing was so worried about the budget that Robert Zemeckis and Townhans gave up some of their pay, and even paid extra money to finish shooting. In order to complete all the long-distance running scenes, the crew concealed Shirley Lansing from filming, and also hired Tonhans's brother as a stand-in, and even Michelle Manning, who was supposed to supervise the crew, helped to hide Paramount, but the "dream team" was known to Paramount when all the shooting was completed in one shot, and finally Robert Zemeckis and Townhans took an extra $1.5 million to shoot the final Monument Valley scene.
