Mr. Wang Bencheng is punctual, promise-abiding and affectionate. Wang Haiyou talked about one thing: "My father has an album, which is the ink treasure left for him by Wu Zuoren, Li Kuchan, Qian Songyan, Bai Xueshi, Qi Gong, He Haixia, Hei Bolong and other old painters. The father said very angrily, 'What happened to the people now?' Where does affection cost! ’”

What he promised others, Mr. Wang Bencheng kept in mind and never delayed. There are often people who ask for albums, and he tries not to disappoint others. Once, a poet friend asked Wang Lao to paint an album, and he gladly agreed, and after the painting was stopped, the friend continued to make a request and asked him to write his own poem. This time, Elder Wang made a little joke - the title was "Toss my eighty old man blindly." After writing, he couldn't help but laugh and cough.

In life, Wang Lao is gentle but not losing his sharp edge, infiltrated by traditional culture quite deeply, in art, he can constantly accept a variety of new ideas, in the process of conversation, the ideas he presents are diverse, sometimes contradictory, perhaps this is related to the times, and his own experience, and because of this, his thoughts and works are always full of vitality. It is common for some art criticism articles to write a painter as flawless, but in fact, there are shortcomings and contradictions, in order to achieve a real painter and a work with emotion and temperature.

Standing in front of the completed works, I think that the artistic mind and the landscape imagery reflect each other, and take their meanings with their traces. Mr. Wang Bencheng said that in my life, I first painted the ancients, then I painted the teacher, then I painted life, painted tasks, and finally painted myself. At the age of 86, there are very few material needs, and painting is also a little from the heart. Scholar Xu Shouling once wrote a poem "Splashing Color Drunken Mountain Tower" after watching Wang Bencheng paint, at this time it may be useful to borrow it: most painters love the mountain, and the boundless green He Youya. A water cloud fell to the bottom of the pen, and it was originally the mountain wind that brought rain.

On the Qilu painting world, there are not many old painters in their old age. By Mr. Wang Bencheng, I also thought of some of the old painters I had the privilege of contacting, each with their own stories, achievements, and styles. The old and the new meet, the hope will last forever, and the calligraphy and painting circles will continue to move forward, and only then will there be the mighty calligraphy and painting Lu Army today.
