China's Gao Tingyu broke the Olympic record with a time of 34.32 seconds to win the championship, which was also the first Olympic gold medal won by China's men's speed skating.

As one of the flag bearers of the opening ceremony of the Chinese delegation, Gao Tingyu has a good strength in the 500-meter event. In today's competition, Gao Tingyu appeared in group 7, and his first 100 meters 9.42 seconds was also the fastest in the whole game, and finally Gao Tingyu broke the Olympic record with 34.32 seconds and won the first gold medal in the Chinese men's speed skating Olympic Games.

Another Chinese player, Yang Tao, finished tied for 21st place with 35.162 seconds. South Korea's Che Minkui finished second with a time of 34.29 seconds, and Japan's Mori Shigehashi was third with a time of 34.49 seconds.
