The day after the incident, Yang Guofeng arranged for Sun Yongning to flee and hide. In April 2003, Sun Yongning was captured and sentenced to death for intentional homicide and has been executed.
When the Jinzhong Municipal Procuratorate investigated the intentional injury case in 2003, Yang Guofeng and others were also examined as criminal suspects involved in the case. However, the person undertaking the case did not identify the criminal evidence that Yang Guofeng instructed intentional injury, but characterized it as the crime of harboring.

During the probationary period, in only one month of December 2019, Li Junfeng committed three consecutive illegal and criminal cases, including intentionally damaging property, beating others causing minor injuries, and picking quarrels and provoking troubles. But these successive violations and crimes did not suspend Li Junfeng's probation, and he remained active outside the prison.
Until April 14, 2020, Li Junfeng picked up a working female college student in a bar, was refused, and stabbed the girl to death with a knife on the spot, and the case immediately attracted great attention from public opinion. On April 19, 2021, the Shanxi Provincial High Court upheld the death sentence. Li Junfeng was executed on July 16 this year.
