Different countries of the same childhood, Egypt unearthed "notepad" pottery pieces, students punished copying or for a long time

Recalling the teacher's classic lines, perhaps everyone can remember the sentence "Go home and copy it for me a hundred times!!! "No matter what era it is, the punishment copy is probably the childhood "nightmare" that we all shared as students. Archaeologists at the University of Tübingen in Germany recently announced that they have collaborated with egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to excavate more than 18,000 pieces of pottery about 2,000 years old at the site of the ancient city of Asribis on the west bank of egypt's Nile.

What are these pottery pieces used for? Recording. Around 3000 BC, the ancient Egyptians invented an ancient paper called papyrus, which could not rot for thousands of years in the dry environment of Egypt. This kind of paper was once an important export commodity of Egypt during the rule of the pharaohs, and was exported to ancient Greece, Ancient Rome and other European countries, but this paper also had two weaknesses, one was that it was easily damaged by mold in wet weather, and the other was that the cost was too high. Therefore, the ancient Egyptians used the fragments of containers such as clay pots as a cheap substitute for papyrus, dipping pens made of reed stalks and other pens in ink and recording on them. Many details of the life of ancient Egyptians are recorded on this batch of excavated pottery tablets, about 80% of which are written in the popular script used by ancient Egyptian civilians, and the rest of the pottery tablets are written in Greek, Arabic and ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. According to the U.S. website Pay Close attention to science, these texts illustrate that the culture of this ancient city was once very diverse.

So what about the penalty? Christian Leitz, a professor at the University of Tübingen who led the excavations, said at the press conference that some pottery tablets recorded "month lists, numbers, arithmetic problems, grammar exercises, and a 'bird-shaped alphabet' – each letter corresponds to a bird name that begins with that letter", so archaeologists speculate that they originated from a school. Schools, of course, are likely to discover the "black history" of students.

In these pottery pieces, hundreds of pottery pieces had the same symbols written on both sides, so they speculated that this was probably copied and written by some mischievous student after he disobeyed. Some of the pottery pieces are also painted with childlike humanoid patterns, geometric figures, and graffiti that resemble animals such as scorpions and swallows. Who doesn't have a few of the masterpieces of that year in their books!

In short, it is true that students copied words repeatedly more than 2,000 years ago, but there is another possibility: a diligent student learned an old proverb: good memorability is not as good as bad writing... Of course, this is just a guess on my part, I am not responsible! I don't know if this news has evoked memories of everyone's student days? I now have only one lyric in my mind: Your childhood My childhood is the same as everyone else
