According to foreign media macrumors, Apple is developing an updated version of the high-end Mac mini, and the new machine will replace the Intel version of the Mac mini that Apple is still selling today.
The outlet said Apple would revolutionize the design of the Mac mini, but did not yet know what it would look like. However, some whistleblowers exposed its renderings, and whistleblowers said that the new Mac mini will have a plexiglass-like top, which will be located on the aluminum shell, and the overall size may be smaller than the current Mac mini.
It's worth noting, though, that this design isn't accurate in terms of interface layout, as the space between USB-C ports isn't that small.
The updated Mac mini will feature the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips first introduced in the 2021 MacBook Pro model, effectively replacing all Intel versions of the Mac mini.
The outlet also said that the Mac mini will be launched sometime in 2022, and it looks like we can see it as early as March. Apple plans an event on Tuesday, March 8, when we can see the launch of the new Mac mini.
