At present, Fan Hongping's resume can no longer be seen on the official website of the Yaodu District Government of Linfen City. According to relevant reports, on the morning of February 7, Fan Hongping, secretary of the Yaodu District Party Committee, presided over a study meeting of the central group of the district party committee, which was his last public appearance before he fell. At the meeting, Fan Hongping stressed that it is necessary to continue to strengthen the construction of work style, standardize the order of work, strictly enforce work discipline, and ensure the normal and orderly operation of all work. Fan Hongping's fall from power is a microcosm of the current high-pressure anti-corruption situation in Shanxi Province. On November 20, Yang Shuting, former secretary of the party group and director of the Shanxi Provincial Grain Bureau, was investigated. On December 9, Lei Dangchen, former member of the party committee and deputy director of the Shanxi Provincial Public Security Department, was investigated.

Since 2022, the anti-corruption efforts in Shanxi Province have increased unabated. On January 11, Zheng Jianguo, former director of the Budget Work Committee of the Standing Committee of the Shanxi Provincial People's Congress, was dismissed. On February 9, Xiong Yanbin, a member of the party group and deputy director of the Shanxi Provincial Geological Exploration Bureau, fell from power.

In order to strengthen the anti-corruption efforts and advocate a clean atmosphere, many places in Shanxi Province have recently launched targeted rectification actions.
