In the first group of the women's 1000m quarterfinals, China's Qu Chunyu and Han Yutong took the lead. In the end, Qu Chunyu slid out 1 minute 28 seconds 355 seconds, and Han Yutong 1 minute 31 seconds 638, ranking fourth or fifth in the group.
Dutch athlete Suzanne Shultin crossed the finish line first with a world record of 1:26.514, after the world record had been held for nearly 10 years.

Following the rules for the women's 1000m quarterfinals in short track speed skating, the top two of the four groups and the two best third places advanced to the semifinals. None of the three Chinese players missed the third place in the group and were all out.
The women's 1000m final will be played at 20:43 on the 11th.
